Dr. Jeff Hanson, ND, is a California licensed Naturopathic Doctor and the medical director of Tahoe Natural Medical Center since 2012. He received his doctorate (2007) in Naturopathic Medicine at the National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM) located in Portland, Oregon; one of the leading Naturopathic medical schools in the United States and the oldest school for natural and integrative medicine.
Dr. Hanson performed a 2-year residency in general primary care at the Center for Natural and Integrative Medicine in Orlando, Florida along side Dr. Kirti Kalidas MD, ND; a well-respected and highly sought-after integrative medical doctor in Florida.
In addition to his practice in South Lake Tahoe, Dr. Hanson is an associate doctor with Dr. Frank Shallenberger MD at The Nevada Center in Carson City, Nevada. Dr. Shallenberger is well known throughout the United States for his pioneering work using ozone gas (Prolozone) for treating chronic joint pains and acute injuries. This is what brought Dr. Hanson to this region from the Pacific Northwest, to learn this therapy and acquire the skill to use it effectively.
Dr. Hanson’s areas of expertise include the field of Restorative Injection Therapies, Interstitial Cystitis, HCG Weight Loss Program, Bio Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy for men and women, Environmental Allergies, Heart Disease, Diabetes, and Digestive Health among other areas.
In his spare time he enjoys the great outdoors and the wonderful beauty of Lake Tahoe. He has been walking the talk since he was 12 years old, drinking wheat grass shots and carrot juice. He spent 3 fulfilling years working on an organic farm as well as 10 years in the natural food industry. He was born and grew up in Minnesota, which explains his strong work ethic; lived in Seattle (Go Hawks!) for a number of years. Moved to South Lake Tahoe in the fall of 2010 and is happy to call paradise his home.
